The HSK (hànyǔ shuǐpíng kǎoshì 汉语水平考试), or Chinese Proficiency Test in English, is a comprehensive exam for non-native speakers of Chinese, and is held several times a year all around the world. Preparing for the HSK test can be a challenging, but eventually rewarding, process. There are special classes you can attend, and many books that will help you prepare. These online resources are a good place to start if you, or your students, are planning to take the HSK:
- On this webpage you can practice (HSK) vocabulary in different ways; from English to Chinese, Chinese to English, in Pinyin, and in characters.
- Popup Chinese (in general a great website for language learners) has a page devoted to the HSK, including vocabulary lists, practice tests, and other useful information.
- The China Education Center offers practice tests for all (new) HSK levels.
- Visit the official HSK webpage for more information about the test, and test locations and dates.
