Chinese history is long, complicated, and fascinating. One of the most characteristic elements of Chinese history is its long succession of dynasties. The Encyclopedia of China offers many articles about the different dynasties, all of which can enrich the learning experience in world history classes and in introductory courses on Chinese history and/or culture. As an example of how the Encyclopedia of China can be used in the classroom, we have annotated one article, “Song Dynasty,” with study questions and fun facts to make history come alive for you and your students!
