Berkshire is the smallest and newest reference company around. Most of the companies you know have been around for decades, even centuries, while we’ll be celebrating our third birthday next month. But we’re the only publisher coming up with titles such as Global Perspectives on the United States and the Berkshire Encyclopedia of Extreme Sports and as a result, we’re getting great reviews, one after another. Our intention is to build a list of future-focused publications designed to enlighten and inform tomorrow’s global citizens and decision makers, and to pique the interest of students, while also satisfying the pedagological requirements of teachers and professors.
“Nearly 70 sports experts and athletes wrote content for [the Berkshire Encyclopedia of Extreme Sports and the] fonts, page formats, and mirrored page numbers make the layout hip and unique in comparison with other print sources. This title is so extreme, it even has a disclaimer! It is recommended for all types of libraries, particularly those interested in gaining the attention of 13- to 34-year-old males.” Booklist, September 15, 2007
