We want to make sure you know about some of the ways in which publishers – including Berkshire – are making our books and reference publications available online at reduced cost, or even free, during the COVID-19 crisis. We’re well aware that taking classes and doing research papers online is a huge challenge for many students, schools, and library patrons. Others are much better able to cope with remote teaching, but are still short of the full range of resources they’re used to.
We hope these options, offered via partners including JStor, EBSCO, and ProQuest, will help you to fill in gaps for everyone you support.

We can also make direct shipments of print books! Amazon has “deprioritized” books and bookstores are temporarily closed, but we can ship direct from our offices for some titles, and almost all our books are available through our bookstore, which ships through Ingram.
Jstor: Expanded & free access to ebooks
JSTOR and its publishing partners are committed to serving the scholarly community during this challenging time in which researchers are unable to access print monograph collections. Together, we are making a collection of ebooks freely available for our academic and secondary school participants through June 30, 2020.
To get free access to the growing list of more than 35,000 available books, in addition to all JSTOR Archive and Primary Source collections your institution does not currently license, please complete and submit the request form.
ProQuest expanded access
ProQuest has partnered with more than 150 publishers to support libraries in providing unlimited access to Ebook Central holdings for all patrons – at no extra charge. ProQuest Ebook Central customers impacted by COVID-19 get unlimited access to all owned titles from these publishers through mid-June. This means that all licenses – including single-user and three-user models – have automatically converted to unlimited access for that period, helping librarians bridge the gap for their patrons in this rapidly changing environment. The unlimited access also applies to additional titles purchased through mid-June.
EBSCO expanded access
Unlimited User (UU) E-Book Access from Participating Publishers – Berkshire will be participating and is in the process of uploading its first collection.
Berkshire’s New Online Bookstore
We are offering our own books and adding curated collections of related, and recommended, books from other publishers. These are being shipped from Ingram, which is currently operating normally.
