| Comments: | Ouyang lost his father when he was four. His mother taught him to read and write, for which he showed much talent. When he grew up he was able to complete the Jinshi degree and found a job at the capital. Though repeatedly attacked politically, Ouyang was able to rebound due to his strict adherance to the principle of justice. He later became known as one of the eight great writers of the Tang and Song dynasties. Ouyang was given the posthumous honor of Royal Tutor. Source-- Portraits |
