Here I am voting in the Searles School gym in Great Barrington this morning. The photo’s big because I want to show the setting: the flag, the old basketball backstop (no hoop–the school’s been closed for five years now), and the machine into which we feed our ballots. It’s uncomplicated here, and Massachusetts is the most reliably Democratic in the country, but I have never before had to wait for even a minute for one of the voting booths. No levers in Great Barrington. We fill in little boxes with a black marker to indicate our choice of candidates. I’ve taken dozens of photos today, and will be uploading them later to Flickr.
