Reading the news (I wander between the BBC, NPR, CNN, and MSNBC, with idle forays to the Daily Show), I came across this blog about weird advertisements. What a fun idea, and so simple that it left me wondering if there might not be some encyclopedia angle? I know we published an article that would probably make the cut: “Bullroarers,” in the Berkshire Encyclopedia of World History. But there’s plenty of strange stuff that makes its way into published books – and not only the kind of writing that gets entered for the Bad Sex Award, which was, I think, the creation of the late Auberon Waugh, editor of the Literary Review.
How about weird encyclopedia articles?
