Super Tuesday in Great Barrington, Massachusetts

Voting in Great Barrington, MA, originally uploaded by KarenChristensen.

The Massachusetts primary isn’t usually a big deal here – this is the bluest of blue states, and for registered Democrats it’s generally clear who’s going get our delegates – but in 2008 our votes really count, which makes the walk down to the old school gym more fun. You can’t get much more old-fashioned than this: older ladies and gentlemen taking the voters name by street address, with no request for identification, before handing us our paper ballots. You can see mine in the photograph. Outside, there were two people holding small “Ron Paul” signs and a small group across the road had Obama placards; no trace of anyone campaigning for Clinton, to my surprise.
