Interview in BNET report on Web 2.0 tools

As you’ll see from this interview with BNET, a new CNET business channel, I’m not an unrestrained proponent of social networking technologies and generic platforms:

“Experiment and Extend: Determine which Web 2.0 tools do the job best, and build upon that success”

To my surprise, we’re finding that it makes sense to develop our own tools and platforms. This is a little frustrating; I wish I could buy a wonderful solution off the shelf. But maybe the real challenge will be to integrate proprietary systems with other platforms and technologies – as we do with standard accounting and wordprocessing software.
