Final moments at Heathrow: discovering Sebastian Faulks

My flight yesterday was at 8.55 from Heathrow, so I was on the Tube at Russell Square at just after 6. Not much time at the airport but I managed to (1) enroll in the IRIS program for frequent visitors to the UK, which means I’ve let the government scan my eyes (I am already having second and third thoughts about this) and (2) discovered a wonderful author, Sebastian Faulks, whose On Green Dolphin Street I grabbed from the WHS stall as I hurried to my plane. Serendipity: lots about jazz in this novel, and even the title is from a song played by Miles Davis (and others).
